Information supplémentaire
| Remarque générale | Acribed to "Jo franchois" in the source. The two-voice canonic introitus precedes a fuller non-canonic texture. This work is transmitted with several voices the T (isorhythmic, repeated), Ct (repeated), solus T1 (repeated), solus T2 (repeated), Trompetta introitus and Ct cum solo tenore (repeated). The Trompetta introitus accompanies the canonic introitus, then gives way to other voices. Despite the number of transmitted voices, its seems that several four-part textures were intended after a three-part introduction. Note the change of mensuration from O in the canonic introitus to C. followed by C in the following section which features a syllabic setting of the hymn text in C1 and C2. |
