Further information

General note A déploration (lament) for Antoine de Févin, King Louis XII’s favourite song-composer. The poet Jean Molinet reports that Févin died perhaps in 1511 or 1512, although this report is unconfirmed. Mouton cites melodic motives from Févin’s Fors seulement la mort.
